The Audit Committee of the Federal Administration (ACFA) is an independent advisory body to the federal Government. It offers advice and recommendations to the Council of Ministers about the general operations of the federal public services.
The ACFA was officially set up in April 2010.
An internal audit assesses the internal control system of the federal public services and where appropriate makes recommendations for improvement. This activity is performed on an entirely independent basis.
Established by the management, the internal control is designed to offer a reasonable guarantee that the aims can be achieved. It covers procedures, verification and inspection tasks, assurances, records of transactions, inventories, codes of conduct etc.
